It was two years ago today that National Art Encounter 2010 opened at The von Liebig Art Center. Now we’re seeking the next class of stellar artists to present their original work for this year’s exhibition. And now that our website is back up, there should be no glitches for anyone working to meet the deadline tomorrow afternoon.

Naples Art Encounter is a biennial visual art exhibition presented by the Naples Art Association.

The contest is open to all artists in the United States, and it is highly competitive. This program has been a resounding success, and we can’t wait to see what’s to come this season!

We have three distinguished jurors for National Art Encounter 2012-2013. Full details on what you’ll need to enter can be found on our artists’ information page.

Artists may enter their work for jury through Juried Art Services until tomorrow at 4 p.m. If you experience any technical challenges or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at 239-262-6517.

Artwork will be on view Dec. 8, 2012 – Jan. 26, 2013 at The von Liebig Art Center.

Good luck to all artists!

Visitors look through art work at Fall Festival 2011

The Naples Fall Fine Art and Craft Festival deadline to apply is Wednesday, Sept. 5. Get your application in today to be a part of this Thanksgiving weekend festival that draws an art-loving crowd!

With five major festivals ahead for the 2012-2013, the Naples Art Association is excited to get the ball rolling! The first deadline for applications is for the 9th Annual Naples Fall Fine Art and Craft Festival, November 24-25.

Festivals hosted by the NAA provide the primary funding source for the education and related programs at The von Liebig Art Center. The mission of NAA, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, is to promote and advance education, interest and participation in the contemporary visual arts. This year, jury fees for its festivals have been reduced to $25 per entry. “We took a close look at our costs, and realized we could make small adjustments that would allow us to reduce our jury fees,” said Festivals Director Marianne Megela. “We are looking out for artists, and we want to pass on savings to them whenever we can.”

The NAA has been hosting outdoor art fairs for 55 years that attract art-savvy collectors and attendees looking to buy. Naples is well known for its community of artists and collectors and was named “The #1 Small Art Town in America” by author John Villani in his book The 100 Best Art Towns in America. Most recently, Smithsonian Magazine also recognized Naples for its support of the arts; the Naples Art Association was highlighted as one of the main attractions for the area. They invite artists to apply for entry to five distinct festival opportunities.  NAA festivals feature organized set up and tear down, reserved parking, booth sitters and more helpful amenities.
